Ice Dance Rhythm Dance
Kana Muramoto (村元哉中) and Daisuke Takahashi (高橋大輔)

I drew the most favorite part of this program. After I started drawing a base mesh over a year ago, I stopped drawing it. But I started it again for the first time in a long time, and I finally finished it.

I love this part, because I feel their strong spirit and energy from their expressions and choreography after they make eye contact. It's just a few seconds, but they are so cool!

Kana-chan!

The biggest reason why I love this part is because I feel like this choreography exactly represents KanaDai. "This choreography" here means that after Kana-chan spins around, they make eye contact, and move forward from the same position (meaning that there is NO difference in height between their positions, unlike lifts), in the same direction, and in the same pose.

It might be natural because they are a team, but I heard that Kana-chan and Takahashi have always practiced the same training (on-ice and off-ice training) together ever since they announced their ice dance partnership, even though their ice dance experiences are different.

When I saw this part, I associated it with Kana-chan and Takahashi, who put forth all their effort every day, and keep moving forward TOGETHER as "Team KanaDai". That's why I thought this part was so KanaDai, and I drew it.

I thought it kind of looked like the symbol of Pisces, and that was one of the reasons I thought it was so KanaDai, too.

No matter how many times I watch KanaDai's Conga, their performance is so great! I always get goosebumps! I just call it "KanaDai magic"! 🪄

Takahashi!

I especially love the atmosphere of WTT 2023! I love the unified feeling of this competition when everyone comes together to cheer out loud, clap to the music, and send applause to the skaters.

When KanaDai's names were announced, I saw so many people hanging a KanaDai's official cheering banner towel and an original big banner. I saw some people wearing PUMA tracksuits, too. I heard "Whoo!" after KanaDai made the first pose, so I thought so many people were looking forward to KanaDai's performance, and I was one of them!

I saw one of the judges keeping a rhythm when KanaDai were performing, so I thought to myself, "Ohhh, you love KanaDai's Conga?! I know, I know! Me too!!!"

I heard that KanaDai often change their choreography to improve their performance. Actually, I felt their performance changed little by little in each competition. I felt like they paid so much attention to details like expressions and hand movements this time, too.

The changes I noticed in this performance were in the beginning of Takahashi's expression like this 😛 and Kana-chan's finger movements in front of the judges. ☝️🪄 I just noticed them this time, but they may have been changing before...! 💭

I love KanaDai's very energetic performance, super cool choreography, very stylish costume, and exciting music! I'm really looking forward to watching KanaDai's performance with everyone in the future!

These are pictures I posted on ex-Twitter. I always draw a game character, and I've never drawn a real person before. So I learned a lot this time, e.g., proportions of facial parts, and shoulder range of motion. I really enjoyed drawing the wrinkles of their costumes!

KASSOUYA🔥

If I were Takahashi, I would reflectively close my eyes when Kana-chan's braids were about to hit me! Definitely!
